A Quick Look at the Last 60 Seconds

Have you ever thought about exactly what happens out there on that big, sprawling thing we call the internet in just sixty seconds?  The answer is “a heck of a lot.”  Millions and billions of things. And that’s in just one simple minutes.  In fact, while you’re taking the time to read this, you wouldn’t believe what’s changed since you landed here.  Twitter accounts, website pages, Facebook posts, new videos uploaded to Youtube…  phew!

Base on a bunch of research (conducted by other people), here’s a quick snippet of things that have happened in the last 60 seconds across the length and breadth of the worldwide web:

  • Facebook – 293,000 statuses are updated
  • Twitter – 433,000 tweets
  • Tumblr – 4.7 million posts (including reblogs)
  • Instagram – 67,000 photos uploaded
  • Snapchat – 277,000 snaps
  • Google – 2.6 million searches
  • YouTube – over 5 million videos viewed
  • LinkedIn – 120 new users
  • Pinterest – 3,400 pins
  • Amazon.com – 25,000 items purchased
  • Email – 138.8 million (including spam)
